Peebles High School football came to an end in the year of 1980. The school district made the difficult decision that the financial costs of football became too large to continue with the sport. Thirty-seven years later, after West Union and North Adams started their football programs in the county, a few of us decided to start a program here in Peebles. Peebles played their first football game in 2017. Peebles Football became a member of the Southern Ohio Independent League. The league teams involved are West Union, North Adams, Southern Buckeye, Georgetown (HS only), Manchester (elementary only), and Peebles. Peebles started with a high school team and has grown to 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 grade teams. Peebles Football. LLC is a community-based program made possible by fundraisers, business sponsors, private donations and volunteers. All funding is used strictly for the football and cheerleading programs. It’s used for safe equipment, field preparations, game necessities, concessions, uniforms, players and cheerleaders needing financial support, etc. No youth is turned away from football or cheer because of their inability to pay or experience. Peebles Football, LLC is recognized by the State of Ohio and is a non-profit organization. Unfortunately, our first two years, our home games had to be played away. However, we did establish a home field on Simmons Avenue allowing our 2019’s home games to be played in Peebles! Go Indians!
The purpose of Peebles Football, LLC is to teach our youth the fundamentals and challenges of competitive football, reliability, constructive communication, active participation, initiative, academics, and cooperation. We aim to instill character, the ability to work with others, physical fitness and a high moral compass in the Peebles youth. We work to provide a safe environment and friendly gathering for players, cheerleaders, officials, spectators, parents, and coaches. Peebles Football, LLC is completely funded by our community. We invite you to come out and support our youth. Come to the games, support our fundraisers, sponsor a player or cheerleader, help on game days, attend booster meetings or become a member, and don’t forget to wear your red, white, and blue! #WEAREPEEBLES
